Tyler is an Oceanside, CA, native and graduate of University of California – Santa Barbara. After college, he moved to Fort Lauderdale to start a career in the yachting industry. He worked as a deckhand/mate on private and charter yachts up to 130 feet. Once he made the jump to captain, he has worked almost exclusively on Nordhavn yachts. He has been employed as full-time captain on a Nordhavn 63 and Nordhavn 80. He has done numerous trainings, orientations, offloads and deliveries on nearly all Nordhavn models currently on the water today. As a result, he has logged over 25,000 nm on Nordhavns with extensive knowledge of the U.S. east coast and the Caribbean. He is also adept at navigating the complexities of flag state and commercial regulations that come with yachts traveling internationally and/or listed for charter. Tyler holds his USCG 200T masters license as well as an international endorsement as master of vessels up to 500 GT.
